Road Car - Classic Camera Package - 2025R1
Last update: 2025.10
If you are an enthusiastic road racer this is the right place for you.

The Road Car - Classic camera packages contain car camera (onboard) views for the iRacing road cars. The style of these onboards are mimicking the classic TV broadcast style views. Based on what I saw in TV over the years I tried to replicate similar looking cameras.

This package does NOT contain any track cameras or the dirt car cameras.
This is the most complete bundle covering ~95%-98% the iRacing road schedule with around 100 cars.

General information about available camera groups

Onboard camera usage in iRacing is limited to 8 camera groups, no more, no less. And camera groups can not be renamed so we need to stick to the default names. Also order of cameras can not be changed. Based on this not all car cameras will look like exactly the same but I tried to keep it consistent as possible. See below which group I use for what type of onboard:

Available camera groups (this my generic approach but can vary based on car). Car cameras across cars in the same class should be alligned (please let me know if not).
-
Group1 (Nose) - placed on the front bumper or somewhere near
-
Group2 (Gearbox) - placed on rear bumper
-
Group3 (Rollbar) - this is inside the car and one of the main views (part of RandomTV in the track cameras)
-
Group4 (LF Susp) - this is on the rooftop, the second main view option. On some cars Rollbar and LF Susp camera may be switched but long term I hope to harmonize all cars.
-
Group5 (LR Susp) - this is usually on rooftop looking backwards
-
Group6 (Gyro) - driver facing camera
-
Group7 (RF Susp) - depends on car, can be in cockpit forward looking camera, or can be located near the wheels
-
Group8 (RR Susp) - depends on car, similar to RF Susp camera
This second video is still a classic from the days when I started back in 2012-2013 :)

To develop the base version of a generic track today (like Charlotte Roval) takes about 10-16 hours. Enhancements and testing until the first releasable version takes about additional 14-16 hours by spectating minimum 3-4 different races and after that loading replays several times.
Most tracks in the above list have gone through 8 or more iterations. Depending on complexity a new iteration can take 4-20 hours. Earliest tracks like Spa GP has already around 30+ iterations.
Due to the amount of track configurations it takes more and more time and effort to maintain all this. Alone I'm not able to review 90+ tracks so your feedback is extremely important if you find something not working. Your support helps me to continue and improve further. Thank you.
